I found a great new lamp for Oliver's room this weekend at Target.



I am keeping my eye out for a more "train"ish shade but for now I love the base! I think it will great in a Thomas the Train room. For now we just went with red because it matches well and it was on clearance. I love Targets mix and match lamps :)

After Almost 2 1/2 years

he decided he liked the pacifier :P



Story behind the photo:
Oliver has never really taken a pacifier, he just did not like them. I tried to get him to take them, trust me I tried because I got tired from time to time of being a human pacifier. But he never wanted any part of it, so we get to today Oliver is almost two and a half years old and and I was doing some spring cleaning . . . I found a pacifier that I had bought when I was trying to get Oliver one to take one and I tossed it on the bed thinking I would figure out what I wanted to do with it later. After a few hours it was nap-time and I had forgotten about the pacifier. So I laid Oliver down on our bed and went to go change the laundry over and this picture is what I came back to. It would be ironic if now he decided he likes them, I am hoping it is a fluke though.

Impatient

Sometimes I am very impatient . . . especially when it comes to give gifts to others. I had James open his birthday present today because I just could not wait to give it to him, although I have to say he happily obliged!

Why?

Why to I spend the money on a nice dollhouse only to have Mattie fall in love with a box and use it for a dollhouse? Kids are silly, and I have to say I love their imagination even if it means sometimes I am wasting my money on toys :P

Neti and New Year Goals

So I spent all day yesterday feeling pretty icky, fever, nasal drainage, body aches. No fun. This morning I woke up very congested on one side of my nose so I pulled out my dear friend the Neti Pot. I love this thing, I feel so much better after using it, seriously. Clears everything out so I get better faster AND I don't have to deal with the yucky symptoms in the meantime. You gotta try it! They actually suggest doing it more often than I do, it is supposed to help with allergies and overall sinus health.

As far as new year goals, mine are as follows (although I am sure I will add more :P ):

Time Management . . . yeah I need it :P I think I need to readjust my schedule a little, get up earlier to spend time with God before the kids wake up instead of trying to do while they are LOUDLY (lol) playing or after they go to bed. I also need to fix Oliver's bedtime because it has been all over the place lately. And I think I need to spend a little more time playing and a little less cleaning . . . although that will be hard because I have found I like cleaning, shhhhh don't tell anyone.

Patience . . . every year I say this and every year it is still true. Not because I have not gained any over the course of the previous year but it is just not enough yet, might not ever be though.

Bible . . . I want to memorize one verse a week. I think this one will be pretty easy because it is something we do for school anyhow.

Weight . . . Gotta get this baby weight off like last year.

365 Picture Project . . . aka posting a picture everyday on my blog, I was hoping it would cultivate some creativity. We will see, it might just cause a headache :P

Reading . . . I want to read one book a month and length does not matter.

I am sure I could think of more, but I think that is good for now. Hope all or at least one of all our goals are achieved this year!

Trying to get a Picture . . .

is hard sometimes when there is a mound of snow in your way. Although my determination may have saved our car some dents because I told James to slow down and a few seconds after that a guy going way to fast for the conditions spun out in front of us. He was fine save for a little bit embarrassment but had we not slowed down he would have hit us. Yikes! Be careful driving on those snowy roads people :)

Here we go . . . this is the wonderful winter wonderland that we spent our first day of the year in! It was a big slippery though so we had to put chains on the car, thank God we remembered those although it seems we forgot half of all the other stuff we wanted to bring LOL



Oh and I had to reload this picture into Flicker one too many times because I kept writing 2010 on it, I guess I am having a hard time letting go :P
